How to prepare for your tattoo appointment

The best way to prepare for your tattoo is to be well rested, well fed, and well hydrated but at the very least PLEASE eat a filing meal BEFORE your appointment. This is the biggest reason clients faint during a session.

  • Please do not drink alcohol before your tattoo or expect to bring alcohol into the shop for your appointment. If you are visibly inebriated when you show up for your appointment, I cannot tattoo you and you will lose your deposit.

  • If you plan to use any numbing cream for your appointment, please read and follow the directions fully. It needs to be applied properly at least an hour in advance or it will not work. Let me know if you have any questions about numbing cream.

  • Please come to your appointment clean. No one appreciates poor hygiene.

Thank you and see you soon!

Aftercare Instructions

Wash your tattoo twice a day with antibacterial soap and warm water using ONLY your hand-no wash cloths and definitely no sponges/loofas. Pat dry with a clean towel and apply a thin layer of non-scented water-based lotion.

  • Don't submerge your tattoo in water. No baths, hot tubs, or swimming while it is healing. Don't sunbathe or expose your tattoo to intense sunlight/heat while it heals.

  • Sleep on clean sheets and if you have pets don't let them sleep with you or lick your tattoo while your tattoo is healing. Pets carry bacteria that can infect a fresh tattoo.

  • DO NOT pick at or scratch your tattoo while it is healing.

  • Contact the body art operator or qualified health care professional at the first sign of abnormal inflammation, swelling or possible infection

Do all of this for 2 Weeks

  • The bandage is waterproof but breathable so you can shower with it on.

  • Wash around the bandage. Do not use any sponges or washcloths on the bandage.

  • If the bandage is pierced or starts to leak it is no longer sanitary and it must be removed.

  • Wear the bandage no longer than 24 hours.

  • Run the bandage under warm water and roll up a corner of the bandage.

  • Slowly pull the bandage in the opposite direction in order to stretch the plastic. This will safely remove the bandage without damaging the tattoo.

  • Do not rip the bandage off rapidly. This could damage your tattoo.

  • If irritation occurs, contact your tattoo artist or a qualified health care professional.
